Start with a reason to change the story
A name can make a greeting personal. Relevance comes from the rest of the story: what the person sees, why the message arrives now and whether the next step makes sense. Before creating variants, write down the customer moment you want to serve.
For a guest with a confirmed booking, that might be a useful pre-arrival introduction. For someone exploring a product category, it might be a focused discovery story. The creative should respond to the information your workflow actually has.
Treat the whole creative as a set of choices
Prepare a common brand foundation, then decide which layers should vary. More variations are useful only when each one serves a clear audience or customer need.
- Voice-over: the spoken message, prepared voice and delivery style.
- Visuals: the setting, imagery, scene selection and visual direction.
- Offerings: the relevant product, collection, service or next experience.
- Actors and presenters: alternative prepared scenes with the right storyteller.
- Script: the narrative plus dynamic values supplied for the recipient.
- Call to action: a next-step message aligned with the selected story.
Combine audience-level choices with recipient-level detail
An audience rule can select a shared creative version for a segment. Individual attributes can then populate the message or determine which prepared variant applies. These are complementary levels of personalization.
For example, a destination-interest segment can receive a coastal story, while the greeting uses the recipient’s name. A city-interest profile can receive another prepared scene and offering. This is a planning example; it is not a claim that the platform infers private interests or changes an actor live inside generated footage.
Design the default with the same care
Every rule needs a sensible unmatched case. Missing data should lead to a complete, useful brand story. Decide which values are required, which can fall back and which recipients should be excluded until their data is ready.
Review a matched recipient, a different segment and a recipient with missing values. Check the spoken line, on-screen text, scene and next-step destination together. A correct name does not prove the rest of the experience is ready.
Prove a representative version before scaling
Inspect a prepared composition in the studio, then validate the output and delivery path your campaign will use. Studio playback, MP4 export and an embedded experience answer different questions.
Engage’s workspace creative rules are separate from the fixed-video API and MCP V1 contract. Adding recipient records through V1 does not personalize the rendered media. Select the supported workflow before committing the creative to a production campaign.
A few useful answers.
Can personalization include actors and offers?
Prepared scene variants can contain different actors, presenters, products or services. Configure the available workspace rules and review each resulting version. This does not imply live actor replacement or a universal product-recommendation engine.
Do we need a unique scene for every recipient?
No. Shared audience variants and individual script values can work together. Choose the smallest useful set of creative choices and a complete default.
